Still Alive

The last week (particularly this past Sunday and Monday) has been extremely hard for our little family.  But we're all still alive!  I think things are starting to turn around.  We're staying with a close loved one temporarily while we work on getting a place and we are very thankful we were able to stay here.  Eric's promotion is getting closer.  He should be starting training in about 2 weeks or so.  It should only be a matter of weeks until we can finally save up enough money to find a "home".

The one thing I'll say about this is that when you hit rock bottom in your life, it really teaches you a lot about your friends and family members.  You find out how much everyone cares about your well-being and it's sometimes a hard thing to accept when you find out the truth.  Some care more than others, and it's not always who you'd expect.  I'm sure each of our friends and family members cares to some extent, and I'm not "angry" at anyone.  I just hope that when people we love fall into hard times like the one we've been going through that we will provide them the love and support that we know that they need, regardless of whether or not they did the same for us in our hard time.

Everyone goes through hard things in life.  Not everyone has gone through anything exactly like what we're going through, so not everyone can really "relate" and fully empathize.  Since I've been through this situation in my life, I'll be able to better relate to and support my loved ones if they ever experience something similar.  I'll have a better idea of what they are thinking, feeling, and needing.  I hope I can use this to my advantage to help others in the future.

I just have to keep thinking positive.  It's hard, but it's possible.
