So... This might be a coincidence, but...

Earlier hubby and I were having a conversation via text about God.  I know, that's silly, who texts about God?  We probably should have had this conversation face to face, but regardless, here is my story.  It's a short one.  At one point in the conversation Eric jokingly said, "God can't get me a job, I have to do that on my own!" and I said to him in response, "You wouldn't believe the things that God can do." and then I went on to tell him about a story I read on AOL today about a 12 year old boy (who was ironically at the beach with his youth group) who was swept out into the ocean and was underwater for a full 20 minutes before he was recovered.  Medics performed CPR on him and miraculously they were able to get his heart beating again on the way to the hospital.  He may have some brain damage, but he's physically going to be okay.  Eric basically said, "WOW!"  That was my thought too.  The kid was underwater for TWENTY minutes... I'm pretty sure you're legally dead 20 minutes after you stop breathing, right?  I'm pretty sure his survival is a miracle.

Then I asked him, "If you get a job by 6PM tomorrow will you believe that God helped you get it?" and he said, "Yes."  So right then and there I took a moment to pray about it.

That was around 6 PM, and at 8PM Eric came upstairs and told me he got a call and he has an interview tomorrow.  I didn't even know he had applied for a job, I thought he was joking.  Anyway, I'm crossing my fingers.  Let's hope he gets the job!  And I hope if he does, he takes time to thank God for helping him, because we all could use some help from God sometimes.  It would be especially wonderful if the job (if he gets it) would let him have off on Sunday mornings so we can start going to church.

I smiled a smug smile at my husband as if to say, "See, told ya so, God exists and he can get you a job if he wants to!" but hubby gently reminded me, "It's just an interview, I don't have the job yet."   I guess we'll find out soon, I wonder if it still counts as a favor from God if he has the interview tomorrow but doesn't officially get offered the job until a few days from tomorrow?  =P

***Crossing my fingers, if you have any extra ones, could you cross them for us too?***

  1. I really don't think that this is a coincidence. And, yes, it's OK to text about God...He inspired it & will use anything to get people's focus back to Him.

Not crossing my fingers for a job for your husband, but agreeing with you in prayer for a great job for your husband.

    Please keep us posted.
