I'm Proud of My Son Again!

I think my son wakes up daily with one mission in mind:  Impress Mommy again today.

Today my son was toddling around carrying around his snack bowl (he always has his snack bowl) and his sippy cup of milk.  He placed his snack bowl down on the coffee table, and took an extra long sip of his milk.  Then he put his cup down on the table on it's side.  After examining the cup rolling around for a moment he realized the cup isn't supposed to sit on it's side, so he picked up the cup, walked to the other side of the table, and then placed his cup directly on the coaster.  We never ever taught him to use a coaster.  Hubby and I cheered and clapped for him as always, to let him know he did something really special.

To top it all off, he put the cup on the coaster 2 more times today, without us telling him to do it.  The 3rd time he did it, he clapped for himself.  He really responds to positive reinforcement.  Whenever he does something new or good we praise him for it, and then he keeps doing that new or good thing repeatedly just so we'll continue clapping and cheering for him.  He loves attention!

This picture is actually from the second time he put his cup on the coaster.  Sorry about the crappy quality, it was taken on my hubby's cell phone because our camera was upstairs.

Oh, one more thing... Ricky recently learned how to put blocks together.  (Big blocks, not tiny legos) He's not really good at it yet, but whenever he puts one block on top of another we always cheer and clap for him so he knows he did it right.  Now when I play with him, if I put 2 blocks together and he sees it, he claps for me!  He's just amazing.
