My Husband and His New Job

On Monday night, my husband Eric left for work at about 7:50 PM.  He works a few blocks away.  He took a very early break and came home to visit me about 3 hours later, which was an excellent surprise.  About 45 minutes after he went back to work I heard sirens.  Lots of sirens.  My heart dropped, because he works in a factory and factories can be dangerous.  I went to a local website online that shows current fires/emergencies going on in the area and it listed one in Wrightsville where we live.  It told me a "nearest" intersection which I briefly scanned over and decided wasn't close to his work.

I was wrong.  A little while later I received the news that there was a huge fire going on at my husband's work, but thankfully Eric is the person who delivered that news and he was safe.  If I had found out his work was on fire from anyone else, I would have worried myself to death.

Due to the fire, Eric has off until they get everything straightened out at his work and they get ready for more production.  So far he knows he has off this week, and later he'll find out if he gets to go back next week.  It's disappointing, financially, since he just started working again and we were anxious to have money coming in.  But  at least he's still employed, and thank God he's unharmed.
