My Charity

I've started a charity called Knits For Knoxville.  Here is the link to the blog where I have all the details about the charity.  In short, I will be donating knit/crochet items to people in need, mostly in my local area so I can hand deliver.  I am still working on rounding up some places to donate things to.  I plan on donating hats to chemo patients, and I'm hoping to find some places that will accept hats for preemies in the NICU and a homeless shelter or 2 that we can donate hats, scarves, mittens, socks, blankets, etc. to.  At the moment I'm focusing on making adult size hats for chemo patients at the UT Medical Center's Cancer Institute (because they've confirmed they would love to accept donations, and they asked for adult sizes).  If you would like to contribute your time to help some cancer patients find some warmth and hope this winter, please send me a hat (or more!).  We need male and female hats!  Once I have a bunch I'll take my first box to the hospital and we can start making people happy!  Just send me an e-mail at ALeiphart70@hotmail.com or contact me via either of my 2 blogs so I can answer any questions you have and send you my address.
