Changes, Always Changes

5 Weeks, that's how long it's been since I first met this little angel.  He's growing like a weed and changing every minute.  Here's his birth stats and his current stats (as of yesterday):

Birth:
Height:  18.5"
Weight: 7lb 14.9oz
Head Circumference: 35cm

5 Weeks:
Height:  22"
Weight:  Over 9 lb
Head Circumference: 38cm

He has grown 3.5 inches and gained over a pound in just FIVE weeks!

The pediatrician seems to think he's going to be pretty tall since he has been growing so fast. In his first week of life he grew almost 2 inches.  I have no idea why... I don't think either of us have particularly tall families.

Adjusting to being a stay at home mom of two children has been rough.  It's not as bad as I expected, most of the time. But when I get overwhelmed, which happens occasionally, it's worse than I expected.  I keep trying to appreciate the way things are now because I know things change constantly.  Someday, as impossible as it seems, I will miss being sleep deprived, sore, and exhausted  because those are all the things that go along with having babies and I will someday wish my kids were this young again.  As much as I look forward to being able to stay up late, sleep in, go on dates with my hubby, and travel again, I sort of dread the day when my innocent little boys are no longer innocent or little.

  1. Spotted your picture on facebook yesterday, but am rounding today from Sandy's Space. I enjoyed each phase, except the sleepless nights and honestly can say I didn't miss the young years...each phase has special moments.
