Today I'm Thankful for Children's Tylenol

My little man is sick today.  This is the first time in his (almost) 2 years of life that he has really had a fever.  Maybe a few times his temperature was a little high when he was teething but he didn't actually act SICK those times.

It was only about 6 or 6:30 this morning when I heard him crying.  He usually sleeps until at least 8 or 9.  I had a feeling something was up and I coerced hubby into getting up to check on him.  I thought maybe his diaper was leaking and he just needed a change of clothes, but when Eric held him he realized immediately that he felt hot.  He asked me what I thought, and I felt his head.  It felt a little warm, but not really that hot.  I didn't think he had a fever.  But then I held him and he rested his head against my shoulder.  I started rubbing his back and felt the heat radiating off his body.  Even his little arms and hands were burning up.  He was wearing two layers last night because it was sort of cold in his room when we put him to bed.  We stripped off the top layer to see if he was just overheating from all the clothes.  We gave him some water, held him for a while, and then put him back down to sleep.

He slept for a few hours, but when he woke up he was still fussy and obviously had a fever.  He hasn't wanted to do anything today other than sit on someone's lap or be held and comforted.  We called the pediatrician and they recommended we give him Children's Tylenol.  We went out and got some and it seemed to bring down his fever a little.  He's still not feeling the best, but I'm glad the Tylenol seems to be helping.  Poor little guy.

I have to admit... Although I HATE seeing my baby sick, I am loving all the cuddles he's needing today.  He's never wanted to cuddle with me this much!
